HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
Seven canine teams from several North Alabama departments were certified as patrol dogs Friday.
Trials were held June 12 for six teams in patrolling and narcotics detection and one team in explosives detection.
The canine teams trained for 13 weeks and all scored above National Level Certification scores as determined by the USPCA. Six teams scored excellent and one team scored extremely well.
The Canine Handlers and their Canine Partners who graduated from the Huntsville Police Department Canine Academy were: Deputy Morris Holmes and dog Sarzo of the Madison County Sheriff's Department, Officer Corey Morgan and dog Bok of the Albertville Police Department, Officer Keith Smith and dog Shiloh of the Homewood Police Department, Officer William Gray and dog SiFore of the Huntsville Police Department, Officer Kevin Lambert and dog Cajun of the Huntsville Police Department, Officer Greg Nikonchuk and dog Caesar of the Huntsville Police Department and Officer Jeff Stubbs and dog Han of the Huntsville Police Department.
