GUNTERSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
What started out as a simple traffic stop in Guntersville led to the discovery of drugs and counterfeit money.
Police said the traffic stop did not look right from the start when it took the two men a little while to make their stop as they frantically tried to hide a syringe.
25-year-old Terry Lane Morton of Guntersville is facing charges of possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
38-year-old Brian Hollingsworth of Boaz is charged with possession of a forged instrument.
Police said when they asked Morton to step out of the vehicle, he was attempting to swallow the drugs and was told to get it out of his mouth.
For Hollingsworth, police asked him for some identification. When he opened his wallet, that's when they discovered a counterfeit $100 bill inside his wallet.
Both men are in the Guntersville City Jail awaiting bonds to be set.
