Agents arrest major suspected spice manufacturer

MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

Sheriff's deputies caught a major manufacturer of synthetic marijuana after a week long search.

Mark Clark was arrested Tuesday and charged with drug trafficking.

He was pulled over last week in Tennessee for traffic violations and arrested when Troopers saw warrants for his arrest. He was held in jail for almost a week until he could be extradited to Madison County.

Clark has a lengthy history of arrests. His record included 37 separate charges like assault, marijuana trafficking and multiple charges for possession of a controlled substance.

Officials began searching for Clark after a different bust. Agents arrested Saeed Zamini for selling spice to an undercover agent at Discount Tobacco in Hazel Green. When authorities moved in, they discovered nearly $50,000 worth of spice in the store.

Christopher Moon was also arrested during the sting. Investigators said selling spice is no different than selling crack cocaine in the eyes of the law, and they plan to track down anyone moving it through the valley.

Clark has bonded out of jail on a $250,000 bond.
