MADISON, AL (WAFF) -
A Madison homeowner may face animal cruelty charges after cats were discovered piled up in a home.
Concerned residents called Madison Police and Animal Control responded to a home on Cottonwood Trail. The neighbors called officials after months of seeing cats going in and out of the home.
Once inside, officers discovered about 15 cats in the vacant rental property. The conditions were so bad that Animal Control officers had to wear masks to go inside.
The cats were taken to a local vet to be treated. They will then head to Madison Animal Rescue.
