Project Lifesaver helps locate missing elderly man

TUSCALOOSA, AL (WAFF) -

A missing elderly man was found safe thanks to his Project Lifesaver bracelet.

An 81-year-old man was reported missing Wednesday from his Tuscaloosa home.

Deputies with Project Lifesaver as well as various other rescue crews were able to track the man through his Project Lifesaver bracelet signal.

He was found an hour later near a water tower and returned home safe.

Project Lifesaver is a monitoring system that places a small tracking device on people who have a tendency of wandering away.
