GUNTERSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
A Guntersville farmer that caused a stir when he refused to leave his booth at a farmer's market has been arrested.
81-year-old Vesta Noles was arrested Saturday and charged with criminal trespass.
Officials asked Noles to leave the Guntersville Farmer's Market saying he broke an ordinance which claims it is illegal for anyone to sell non-local produce at the farmer's market.
Noles would not say where his produce was grown and refused to leave the stand. He has been protecting the stand since Tuesday.
Police warned him he would be arrested Saturday if he did not vacate.
