Police release name of shooting victim

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Police responded to a shooting in Huntsville early Friday morning.

The shooting happened around 5 a.m. on Evangel Circle.

Officials said 37-year-old Kevin Wilson of Huntsville was sitting in his car on Evangel Circle when he was shot once in the torso. The man crashed his car into a building shortly after.

His friends drove him to the Bojangles on 4323 University Dr after flagging down a HEMSI vehicle.

Emergency responders said they had to cut the man's clothes off to get to the wound. He was taken to Huntsville Hospital with life threatening injuries.

Police believe the shooting stemmed from a fight at a party at the location.

A suspect has not been named.
