MOULTON, AL (WAFF) -
Storms ripped across Lawrence County Thursday night causing major damage.
A wing of the school, built just over a year ago, had the roof torn off at Lawrence County High School. The building contained $100,000 in technology the school bought with a recent grant.
The school superintendent said the gym sustained major damage as well and has an inch of standing water in it. Officials will have to remove all the technology before they can repair the building.
A number of other building and structures across Lawrence County sustained damage as well from broken windows to structure damage.
Crews have been out all day with chainsaws attempting to remove fallen trees and debris.
The National Weather Service reported the storm was a macro-burst with winds upwards of 80 miles per hour. Multiple buildings in Lawrence County were damaged by the storms.
Two minor injuries have been reported but no deaths
