La Constenita in Boaz scored a 78 during a reinspection.
A Marshall County health inspector returned after the Mexican restaurant scored a 72 the previous inspection. This time, there were several violations reported, but only one was a critical violation as the inspector reported they were not sanitizing utensils.
Taqueria y Restaurante Mi Princesa rose from a 74 to a 79 during their reinspection. To prevent bacterial growth, cold-holding food must be held no higher than 41 degrees. The inspector reported a walk-in cooler at 50 degrees, too warm to keep cold food cold enough. The inspector also discovered cleaning bottles stored over food and dishes, and a personal drink in a food prep area.
A Morgan County health inspector reported two critical violations at Momma's Cafe in Decatur as the restaurant scored an 84. The inspector deducted points for temperature issues with cold-holding foods.
Hickory Stick BBQ on Highway 20 in Decatur made it off of the Morgan County Health Department's reinspection schedule. The restaurant improved by 10 points, scoring an 88.
