HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Two people were displaced after a fire broke out at their Box Canyon Road home.

The fire broke out just before midnight. Firefighters said flames were coming out of the garage.

Investigators said the family threw away fireworks they believed were duds. The fireworks went off, causing the fire.

Crews worked to keep the fire contained to the garage, but the family's car did sustain damage.

The homeowner's were not injured. Firefighters had to cut off power to the home, and the family is temporarily displaced.
