NEW MARKET, AL (WAFF) -
Firefighters worked in mid-day heat to put out a brush fire in Madison County.
The fire burned at least one acre in a field on Arnold Road.
One firefighter suffered heat exhaustion and was treated at the scene. The temperature outside was 97 degrees at the time of the fire.
Crews were able to put out the fire in less than two hours.
