HARVEST, AL (WAFF) -
Crews from several fire departments were called to a house fire at a home on Horse Pin Place around 1:30 p.m. Monday.
Smoke could be seen for several miles and flames were shooting through the roof and windows when firefighters arrived.
Investigators are questioning a teen who was inside the home at the time of the fire as part of the investigation. He was not injured.
Madison Fire Department backed up Harvest Volunteer Fire Department on the call. Toney Volunteer Fire Department was also called to the scene.
The Fire Marshal said the cause of the fire appears to be accidental. He said it started in the garage area of the home and was exacerbated by a propane tank that exploded in the garage.
Investigators plan to return to the property Thursday.
A mandatory water restriction is in place so firefighters have enough water and pressure to fight house fires such as this one. Officials said the water restriction did not impact this house fire.
