HARVEST, AL (WAFF) -
Harvest-Monrovia Water customers have been subjected to a mandatory Level 3 water restriction.
Authorities at the company said the mandatory water restriction is due to a lack of participation from customers when the company issued a voluntary water restriction.
Harvest-Monrovia Water Association said tank levels have declined below the 50% storage level, possibly affecting the water needed for drinking, normal household use and the ability to fight fires.
Level 3 is defined as the following: Outside water use is prohibited except on Mondays and Wednesdays between the hours of 12 a.m. and 4 a.m. for even numbered addresses, and from 12 a.m. to 4 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays for odd numbered addresses. No outside watering is allowed on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
The company said violations of the mandatory restrictions will be punished by fines and or disconnection of water service.
