A man was rushed to the hospital after he was bitten by a snake.
The man's friend said he was picking beans and corn in a garden at Meridian Street and Wholesale Avenue around 8:30 a.m. Friday when the snake bit him.
The brown snake bit the man on his leg. Witnesses didn't know exactly how long the snake was, but estimated it to be about two inches thick.
Paramedics rushed the 47-year-old man to the hospital. His condition is unknown.
It's unknown what kind of snake bit the victim. He was alert when he was transported to the hospital.
The victim is a Madison County employee who was picking vegetables to give to disabled people.
Identify the type of snake if possible. Get away from the snake. Do not attempt to suck out the venom. Do not apply a tourniquet unless you have a great deal of knowledge about snakes and the effectsMore>>
