HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
Many people are probably planning to cook-out for the 4th of July, so you may want to go out to eat this weekend. We have the dirt on three low performers in our Kitchen Cops report.
We start the kitchen cops report with a dirty dozen; 12 violations reported at the Ryan's in Decatur. Three of those were critical violations, as the restaurant scored a 75.
The inspector reported an employee making bare hand contact with ready-to-eat cucumbers, a potential cross contamination combination. Also discovered were dirty chicken trays, a dirty meat saw scraper and the soft serve was warmer than the required temperature for cold-holding foods.
An 84 for Nothing but Noodles in Huntsville. There were temperature issues with some cooked noodles that were above the required temperature to prevent bacterial growth. The inspector also reported cheese above temperature, and marinara sauce that did not cool at the right rate.
The Ryland BP Food Mart in Huntsville is a low performer for the third straight time, scoring an 82 this time. A Madison County health inspector discovered cheese, raw sausage, ham and milk all above the cold-holding temperature.
And a Lauderdale County health inspector handed the Happy Hollow market in Florence an 82.
