MORGAN COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -
Firefighters stayed busy battling two separate blazes early Friday morning. One left a family homeless.
One was on Mill Creek Road in Falkville and the second was on Hobb Ward Road near Priceville.
Investigators said fire on Mill Creek Road started sometime around 12:30 a.m. Several fire departments rushed to the mobile home where two adults and two kids were inside. The family made it out of the fire unharmed. The landlord had to be treated for smoke inhalation. Firefighters said the home had heavy smoke damage.
Then around 3 a.m., flames erupted in a mobile home on Hobb Ward Road. Priceville, Somerville and Oden Ridge fire departments responded. They put out the fire fairly quickly, but the unoccupied mobile home was destroyed. The home did not have electric service. The cause of this fire is under investigation.
The cause of the Mill Creek Road fire is also under investigation. We're working to find out if Red Cross is going to help the displaced family.
