DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -

Decatur police arrested a homeless sex offender Wednesday after he failed to register.

Officials said that they investigated Joseph Ivy after information came in that he was living in Decatur.

Ivy was released from the Limestone County Jail in May. Ivy was not registered to live or work in Decatur.

Ivy was arrested and charged with not registering as a homeless sex offender and failure to register employment.

Ivy was convicted in 2002 of sexual abuse of a child under five.

He was transferred to Morgan County Jail on $5000 bond.
