HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
In this week's Crime Stoppers, a bold thief steals from a local Wal-Mart and managed to get away, but police hope the public can help put him behind bars.
Thousands of shoppers go in and out of Wal-Mart every day, and that made it easy for one crook to slip out. It took place back on February 13th at the Wal-Mart on University Drive.
A man wearing a white jacket and a baseball cap was walking through the sporting goods section of the store, and it looks like he's shopping for a particular item, but that's not the case.
When he realized no one was looking, he made his move and cut open an expensive reel used for fishing, put it underneath his jacket and walked toward to the entrance. Cameras caught him walking out of the store without paying for the merchandise.
If you have any information on this man, call 256-53-CRIME.
