FT. PAYNE, AL (WAFF) -
Two people were arrested in connection with a Friday night burglary in DeKalb County.
Officials said the family was at the funeral home for a visitation when the home was burglarized.
Officers responded to a home in Fort Payne where the suspects were supposed to be. Police said they smelled marijuana upon arrival and arrested Shane Henager and Kelli Thein.
Officers searched the residence and found items taken during the burglary. Jewelry, coins and medication were recovered.
Henager was charged with burglary third degree, theft of property second degree, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of marijuana second degree. His bond was set at $25,500.
Thein was charged with receiving stolen property third degree unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana second degree. Her bond was set at $12,000.
