HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
A pedestrian hit by a car on Moore's Mill Road Tuesday morning has died.
Huntsville Police said 25-year-old Jonathan Jackson of Hazel Green was walking along Moore's Mill near Highway 72 around 4:30 a.m. when a vehicle hit him.
Officers are searching for the offender's car. They believe it is a black Honda Accord that has front-end damage and missing a mirror. Police believe it may have turned into the Cin Ram parking lot.
Moore's Mill Road was shut down while officers cleared the scene, but the road has since been reopened.
Jackson was rushed to Huntsville Hospital with critical injuries and he later died.
Jackson leaves behind a wife and two sons. His family said they hope whoever hit him turns themselves in.
Officers are following up on leads to find the car and identify a suspect. Anyone with information about the accident should contact Huntsville Police.
