MERIDIANVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
Hemsi officials confirmed a 13-year-old boy in Meridianville was severely burned by fireworks Friday night just after 9 p.m.
The boy was reportedly playing with fireworks at 138 Patterson Road when they exploded in his lap. Officials said he was burned severely from his abdomen, down across his pelvis and to the top of his legs.
He was taken to Huntsville Hospital late Friday night. He was later transferred to the UAB Burn Center in Birmingham with severe injuries.
