MADISON, AL (WAFF) -

A couple who hoarded 85 dogs in their home are being charged with animal cruelty, according to Madison Police.

Madison Police said 85 dogs were found inside the home on Crestview Drive. Only 38 of the ended up surviving and being treated at local vet offices and animal shelters.

James Lin, 73, and Patricia Lin, 71, will appear before a judge facing 47 counts of misdemeanor cruelty to animals.

According to Madison Animal Rescue Foundation, three dogs are still up for adoption.
