HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Over the past few months, Huntsville saw a lot of robberies, from restaurants, to hotels, even shoe stores. After arresting two men, their confessions connected them to 16 other robberies.

One of those men went before a judge for a felony exam hearing Wednesday morning.

Former robbery victims said it feels good to have their cases closed.

Huntsville Police said that 23-year-old Gregory Forbes and 24-year-old Ronald Allison are responsible for at least 16 of the robberies that have happened over the past few weeks.

"It's crazy. I mean, it is unbelievable how many places got robbed in a matter of two weeks," said Giancarlo Ventura.

Ventura is the manager at Jet's Pizza in Huntsville.  His store was one of the 16 that was hit by the pair.

Since the robbery, Ventura said they have taken extra steps to protect themselves.

"We are just locking up the doors and stuff like that once it starts getting dark outside, we have a camera in here now, just taking extra precautions," Ventura said.

The arrests have put residents like Tony Cannizzo at ease.

It was the rash of robberies that lead Cannizzo to start a "Make Huntsville Safe Again" page on Facebook.  That page led to a community meeting with citizens and law enforcement back in May.

"I've definitely been impressed, and I feel good with what I've been seeing recently," Cannizzo said.  "A lot of the investigations have come to a close with arrests, which is exactly what we wanted to see."

Police said the investigation into these robberies is still ongoing.  They said they expect to charge at least one more person in connection to these robberies.
