HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

The University Of Alabama Board Of Trustees voted Friday to approve a measure that would raise the tuition of all three of their campuses.

Tuition costs for in-state, undergraduate students at UA-Huntsville will now increase 8.6 percent beginning the 2012-13 academic school year.

The cost for an average 15-credit semester will rise by approximately $350, bringing the tuition for the entire school year just under $8,800.

The University of Alabama at Birmingham will also raise their tuition by 8.5 percent, while their main campus in Tuscaloosa will only raise their tuition by 7 percent.

Officials from the school said Friday the increases in tuition to each campus are inevitable because of the declined support from the state.
