In the second doubleheader in three nights, the Huntsville Stars were swept by the Mobile BayBears on Monday night to cap on their series at Hank Aaron Stadium.
In game one, the Stars broke out to a 5-0 lead after a four-run second inning. However, Mobile tied up the ballgame with five runs in the sixth and then ended the game as a Mitch Stetter wild pitch plated Alfredo Marte from third in the seventh to win 6-5The loss wasted a strong start by starter Kyle Heckathorn, who pitched four scoreless innings. On offense, center fielder Josh Prince came through with a 2-run HR and catcher Adam Weisenburger had two hits and two runs batted in,
In game two, Mobile had a 1-0 lead until the seventh inning until Stars third basmen Juan Sanchez delivered an RBI single with two outs to bring the game to extra innings. Unfortunately, in the bottom of the eighth, an RBI infield single by BayBears left fielder Dan Kaczrowski off of Stars LHP Dan Merklinger gave Mobile their second walkoff win of the night and the series sweep. This loss wasted another tremendous start by Stars starter Hiram Burgos, who gave up just one run and one hit through six innings pitched.
