Chicken salad made at an Arab restaurant stands out above most in the state, according to the Alabama Tourism Office.
Chicken salad at Grumpy's Pizza and Pasta Shoppe has made the list of "100 dishes to eat in Alabama before you die."
Tourism officials said they chose Grumpy's because it came highly recommended by area and local tourism offices. It then got the final approval to be put on the list by the state tourism office.
The restaurant owner, Tracy Jackson, said she believes the black olives give it character, and lately they've been selling out every day.
"We've been really busy ever since. You know, everybody is excited about it. Obviously, it's the biggest seller for us. Everybody tells me that they love our chicken salad," Jackson said.
Grumpy's Pizza and Pasta Shoppe's chicken salad made the '100 dishes to eat in Alabama before you die' list.
