ARAB, AL (WAFF) -

Arab Police need help identifying a man who used a gas pump nozzle to destroy the pump's digital screen after the store clerk refused to give him gas on store credit.

The man was forced to get a couple of dollars worth of gas with the change he had and then did $3,000 worth of damage to the gas pump.

Police said the man came into the Big H Quick Stop on May 27 to purchase gas and requested he be given store credit. When the clerk declined, he put some change on the counter to purchase a very small amount of gas.

It was when he went to the pump the damage began.

He got his gas, and then he used two hands and used a lot more force to ram the nozzle into the electronic panel before quietly putting the nozzle back on the pump, getting into his car, then driving off.

Arab Police said if caught, he faces first degree criminal mischief charges.

If you have any information about this crime and where that person may be, you are asked to contact the Arab Police Department.
