UAHuntsville police arrest suspect on theft charges

University of Alabama in Huntsville police arrested a man on fraud charges after several credit cards were stolen from employees.

A UAHuntsville spokesman said 50-year-old Michael Alvin Cole was arrested at 10:42 a.m. Tuesday without incident on eight warrants.

Officials said the cards were stolen from employees on campus in recent months from offices in the Shelby Center for Science and Technology.

Huntsville Police provided backup to the UAH police officer.

Cole faces one count of illegal possession of a credit card, four counts of fraudulent use of a credit card and three counts of second degree theft of property. He was booked into the Madison County Jail and his bond was set at $40,000.
