MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

A man faces murder charges after authorities responded to a fatal stabbing Monday evening.

The incident happened off Highway 431 near Dug Hill Road in Brownsboro.

Madison County deputies were called to the scene before 6 p.m. Monday. Deputies said when they got there they found 63-year-old Gerald Kuntcman unresponsive.

They said his adopted brother, 64-year-old Robert McKnight, stabbed Kuntcman.

Deputies said a fight between the adopted siblings led to the stabbing and alcohol is thought to be a factor for the argument and that attack.

Construction crews that worked in the area said McKnight and the family were always friendly and nothing seemed out of the ordinary the day of the murder.

McKnight was charged with murder and booked into the Madison County Jail on a $60,000 bond.
