HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
Overnight storms caused major damage across the Tennessee Valley.
A shed caught fire in Huntsville and there were several reports of power outages in the Hazel Green and Walnut Grove area. The outage extended from Walker Lane to the Tennessee state line.
Also in Northwest Huntsville, there was an outage near Mastin Lake Road and Stringfield Road.
In Colbert county, EMA officials said there were several trees down and power lines down. They also said a tree fell on top of a car on Barnes Lane and Lee Highway.
Officials said crews worked overnight to clean up the damage and restore power.
An additional wave of rain and storms will likely come in this evening into the overnight hours. Some storms could be strong to severe with damaging wind and hail the primary threats.
