HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
Huntsville Police are investigating a kidnapping and rape that happened overnight in North Huntsville.
The victim told police that she was visiting a friend at the Red Carpet Inn on University Drive around 1 a.m. Sunday. As she was walking back to her vehicle, she was approached by a man armed with a handgun.
The offender forced the victim into his vehicle at gunpoint, according to police. The offender then drove the victim to the 1500 block of Blossomwood Drive and raped her.
It's unknown how the victim escaped from her attacker.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
Huntsville Police are investigating a rape and kidnapping.
