HPD: Quiznos robbery suspects connected to 16 other crimes

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

The two men arrested for the May 29 Quiznos robbery have been connected to 16 other robberies according to Huntsville Police.

Ronald Allison and Gregory Forbes were arrested hours after robbing the Quiznos on University Drive at gunpoint.

Police are only charging the duo with four other robberies due to the fact that they are cooperating and giving investigators information about other people connected to the cases.

Investigators said Forbes and Allison will be charged in the robberies at The Liquor Store on April 4, The Dollar General on April 29, The Pizza Hut on May 13 and the La Quinta Inn on May 22.

The Quiznos robbery was one of many Huntsville robberies that have taken place in the past few months.

Most recently, a clerk shot and killed a man that tried to rob the Atlantis Corner on Old Monrovia Road.

Huntsville Police said that since the robbery task force was announced on May 22, 11 suspects have been arrested, clearing 24 robberies.

Huntsville police held a press conference Friday to address the recent string of robberies.
