MARSHALL COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -
The Marshall County Health Department gave China Buffet in Boaz an 81 during their most recent inspection.
An inspector discovered foods on the buffet line where customers serve themselves below the required hot-holding food temperature. When hot food is held below 135 degrees Fahrenheit, bacterial growth can begin. The inspector reported one other critical item violation, noting that employee drinks were found in the food prep area.
One reinspection to tell you about this week, as Happy's Chevron rose 10 points, going from an 84 before to a 94 this time.
A Colbert County health inspector returned to Happy's Chevron on Highway 72 in Cherokee, handing them a 94, ten points better during their previous inspection. The new score gets the food mart off of the health department's reinspection schedule.
