HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
Police are working to figure out if a robbery that resulted in a shooting is connected to a drug bust.
A man told police he was meeting four people at the tennis courts near his apartment at Governor's House apartments just after midnight Wednesday, when they tied his hands with duct tape and robbed him.
The man said they shot him in the back of the leg when he tried to get away. Police think they used a shotgun.
He was taken to the hospital and treated for his gunshot wound.
While police were looking for the robbers they found Joshua Martinez near the complex with nearly a pound of marijuana separated into bags. Officers took him in to custody.
He was charged with possession of marijuana first degree.
