DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -
A family is still looking for answers after their loved one was found dead more than eight years ago.
Kendrick Deloney was 25 years old when his body was found inside the trunk of his sister's white Buick back in March 2004. He had been missing since February.
His mother, Lola Teague, said she needs closure for her son.
"I miss everything," Teague said. "His laugh, I miss everything. I miss him coming to my front door. I miss him knocking on my bedroom door. He was just a wonderful person."
Teague said it's been more than eight years, but the pain of not knowing who killed her son is still the same.
"It's been rough. I don't have a closure to his murder, and I would like to have a closure," she said.
Sgt. George Silvestri with the Decatur Police said the investigation into the case is still active.
"We've never quit working on the case," Silvestri said. "We'll eventually get them. We always do. It's just that sometimes it takes a while."
Silvestri said the police department needs help from the public to solve the case.
"There are people out there who know exactly what happened and who was there and who did what, and if they can come forward and talk to us and work with us, then we can get some justice served for the family," he said.
