HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
There is an alert for anyone looking to have their air conditioner serviced.
Scams are popping up across the southeast as warmer temperatures move in.
The Better Business Bureau said the Huntsville area is no stranger to these types of scams.
To check and see if a company is credible, the BBB said to go to their website.
"We have a directory of our accredited businesses, so if you're not sure who to use, you can click on there and get the list of those companies we have scrutinized, and they have made a pledge to us to abide by our standards," said Michelle Mason with the Huntsville BBB.
The BBB said asphalt and resurfacing scams are also popular this time of year.
They said if the deal sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
