DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -
The three suspects charged in the Decatur Krystal murders had an arraignment Wednesday.
Jordaan Creque, Cassandra Elred and Ezekiel Gholston are charged with capital murder for the 2011 Krystal shootings.
Creque pleaded not guilty by reason of mental defect or disease. Elred pleaded not guilty to all charges. Gholston requested another hearing before he makes a plea. His attorney told a judge he wants a youthful offender status. Gholston was 20 years old at the time of the murder.
Police say the trio murdered Jessie Aguilar and Jeffrey Graff during a robbery in August 2011. Investigators said Elred waited in the car while the other two robbed the Krystal and shot the victims.
Both Creque and Elred were employed at the fast food restaurant.
If convicted, the suspects face the death penalty or life in prison.
