MARSHALL COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -
Governor Robert Bentley awarded a $5,000 grant to Marshall County to help reduce energy consumption on farms.
The grant is intended to help Maze Farms Inc. retrofit the lights in five poultry houses. The upgrade will include compact fluorescent lights, dimming controls and other upgrades which will save energy and reduce utility costs.
The US Department of Energy made the grant possible.
