LIMESTONE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

Fallen officers were honored in Limestone County Tuesday.

Officials held the special ceremony in Ardmore. Law enforcement officers from Alabama and Tennessee came to honor those who lost their lives in the line of duty.

Guest speaker Colonel Tracy Trott of the Tennessee Highway Patrol talked about Trooper Andy Wall. He was killed in an accident in Smyrna, Tennessee in May 2011.  A vehicle stuck his motorcycle during a police escort.

"It's like losing a brother or a sister. You feel very responsible who work for you and work in this line of duty. Even when it's another department. You feel responsible. You feel vulnerable," said Col. Trott.

Trooper Wall's name was recently added to the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington, D.C.
