HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
A Huntsville soldier was seriously injured in an insurgent attack in Afghanistan.
First Lieutenant Christopher Perreault was born and raised in Huntsville, according to a family member. He is stationed in Fort Carson, Colorado and was deployed with the Third Brigade, Special Troops Battalion.
After the attack two days ago, in which two other soldiers were killed, Perreault was transported to Germany for treatment. Family members say he is expected to return to the United States as soon as he is well enough.
