HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
The Huntsville City School Board met Monday morning to address
teacher contracts.
The board renewed the contracts of 85 teachers and denied tenure
for 29 permanently contracted teachers and 56 probationary contracted teachers.
The board approved the superintendent's recommendation to
move more than a dozen principals. Dr. Casey Wardynski said the move was to enhance
curriculum, lead schools in a new direction and match the principals' skill
sets with specific schools.
The board also approved a new principal contract for Ray Landers
who will serve over Hampton Cove Elementary.
