LAUDERDALE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -
A Lauderdale County health inspector gave Fiesta Mexicana in Florence an 81. The inspector discovered sewage on the ground around the septic tank outside. Inside, the inspector took off points for employees eating and drinking in a food preparation area.
A Colbert County health inspector gave Jody's Restaurant in Tuscumbia an 83. Two critical violations were reported. One was for a dish machine that wasn't sanitizing. The inspector also reported chili and vegetables were held two days past the date marked for discarding.
A Morgan County health inspector handed the Applebee's on Beltline Road in Decatur an 84. The inspector reported fryer baskets with loose wires were being used. The inspector also found an employee drink stored in an ice cream chest.
A Morgan County Health Department report shows sixteen total violations at Big Sam's on Old Moulton Road in Decatur. They scored a 71. The inspector reported food held below the minimum hot-holding temperature required to prevent potential bacterial growth, and discovered mold on the frozen drink machine nozzles.
The Pulaski University Texaco in Huntsville scored a 75. A Madison County health inspector took off points for hot-holding foods below the required temperature and because pans weren't being washed, rinsed and sanitized properly.
The Chong Wah Express at the Decatur Mall improved from an 83 to an 89 during their recent re-inspection.
AMF River City Lanes shot up sixteen points, scoring a 96 during their re-inspection.
