SPRINGFIELD, TN (WSMV) -
A grieving Middle Tennessee family is asking for your help this weekend finding the person who murdered their only son. A community is coming together to help them get out an important message.
Their message is loud and clear - they want Springfield, TN, to stop the violence. Dozens took to the streets Saturday hoping neighbors will join them in that fight.
That march happened just one week after Raushaud Singletary was gunned down. Less than 24 hours after burying her only child, Raushaud's mother, Jan Pettis, joined dozens of community supporters to symbolically walk past the very spot where her 20-year-old son was shot and killed on J.L. Patterson Boulevard.
Her son's killer is still out there. That's why Pettis is asking anyone with information to come forward.
City leaders will also be coming together Monday night for a community meeting to address the violence in Springfield. That meeting will be held at First Baptist Church on Cheatham Street starting at 7 p.m.
If you have any information about Singletary's murder, call Springfield police.
