HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
The driver who collided with three cars on the I-565 in Huntsville Friday night may have been experiencing diabetic shock caused by low blood sugar at the time of the accident, according to police.
Six people were injured and sent to the hospital, including 24-year old Pranika Saiyasith, who suffered life-threatening injuries.
Police said 65-year-old Lee Thomas Mayne crashed his pick-up truck while driving eastbound on the westbound I-565 near the Oakwood Avenue exit.
The accident remains under investigation. Police said charges are pending against Mayne.
