Girl's hanging death ruled homicide; juvenile in custody

The death of an 8-year-old girl who was found hanging from a rope attached to a tree at her home in Ragland has been ruled a homicide.

St. Clair County Coroner Dennis Russell said that the autopsy has been completed for Katelynn Arnold, and that the cause of death is homicide due to ligature strangulation.

Russell said the county sheriff's office has a suspect in custody, and that the suspect is a juvenile.
