Baseball Rises In South Region Poll To No. 5
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The NCAA Division II Baseball Committee released the NCAA South Region Rankings for baseball Wednesday, and the University of Alabama in Huntsville improved two spots in the rankings, moving from the No. 7 to the No. 5 spot in the poll that determines seeding for the national tournament.
The rankings are used to seed the eight teams that make the NCAA South Regional portion of the national field.
Tampa continued its stay in the top spot, followed by Delta State, Lynn, Nova Southeastern, UAH, West Florida, North Alabama and Valdosta State. The first two teams currently not in the field are Florida Southern and Florida Tech at No. 9 and No. 10, respectively.
The Chargers will now await the official announcement regarding postseason play as the NCAA Division II Baseball Selection Show airs on NCAA.com at 9 p.m. CT on Sunday, May 13.
