MARSHALL COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -
China 1 in Guntersville did far better during their recent reinspection, but it still was not enough to get off of the Marshall County Health Department's reinspection schedule. Any establishment that scored 84 or lower is on that schedule, and China 1 scored an 84.
The score during the previous inspection there was a 66. During that inspection, the health inspector reported four critical violations. During the reinspection, the restaurant cut that total to one as the inspector reported a dirty can opener blade.
Gannon's Corner Restaurant in Arab scored an 80. A Marshall County health inspector reported three critical violations; broken plates and frayed skimmer wires, a worker's drink on a cooler, and mop water poured on the ground.
The Piggly Wiggly deli and bakery in Guntersville scored an 81 with the health department. The inspector reported finding employee drinks on a food preparation table. Piggly Wiggly also lost points for broken fryer basket wires.
The Wavaho Food Mart on Wilson Street in Decatur made it off of the Morgan County Health Department's reinspection schedule with an 85 during a recent reinspection. The convenience store scored an 80 during their previous inspection.
