FLORENCE, AL (WAFF) -
Lauderdale County officials arrested a woman accused of kicking her 3-year-old son.
Officials reported that the boy wanted to stay and play and that is why she kicked him. Tabitha Dawn Liles of Florence was arrested and charged with child abuse.
The incident happened Sunday evening between 8 and 10.
Witnesses said they saw Liles get mad and kick the boy in the chest. Reports indicated she left the residence later and left the boy with the occupants. When she showed up Monday to pick up the boy, the residents would not give him up and called the police.
The boy was taken to a medical facility and he had no injuries. DHR will oversee the child's placement.
