HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
Police are searching for a man that led them on a high speed chase early Wednesday morning.
Police said he was driving a green Mercury SUV, and they tried to pull him over on Holmes Avenue around midnight. Officers said the driver did not stop and began to speed up. They said he was driving erratically, going at least 80 mph.
Police caught up to him near Meadow Drive and Hart Drive, and that's when they said he bolted from the truck.
Officers found his pregnant girlfriend sitting in the car. She was not injured, but HEMSI checked her out to make sure she was ok.
Police called in a K-9 unit to try and track down the driver. No arrests have been made.
Medics checked to make sure the driver's pregnant girlfriend was ok after the high speed chase.
