MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

A pair of studies published Tuesday in the Annals of Internal Medicine show new findings about mammogram's for women under 40.

Los Angeles Times analysis of the reports said women who have dense breast tissue or whose mothers or sisters have been diagnosed with breast cancer should begin mammogram screenings at age 40 with repeat screenings at least every other year.

The study abstract said the researchers recommend film mammography over digital mammography because of a lower risk of false positives.
